Sustainability in the financial sector is the responsible use of money. But what does that mean? It refers to the requirement to make financing and investments in line with environmental and social concerns and with a view to responsible corporate governance (ESG for short). The aim is to design the financial system in such a way that it minimises the long-term impact on the environment and society, protects natural resources and at the same time enables good economic development.
